LSM1102 Molecular Genetics
I had a love-hate relationship with this module. The content can be quite interesting but the CAs are a freaking nightmare. The CAs are open book, and I hate open book exams. The thing about open book exams is that the answers are... NOT IN THE BOOK. Which means it is very hard to study for the tests. So I guess you just have to whack and hope that you hit the right answer. The last CA was an open universe test. So you can search the internet, call a friend, talk to your friend... I know, freaking ridiculous. So, as expected the CA was quite out of the box. The key to scoring is... make friends with genius and sit beside them hahahahaha. Jokes aside, it really helps to have some friends so that Y'all can discuss.
For finals, I was so thankful that is was MCQ. Love MCQs. There were 75 questions. Each lecturer had 25 questions. The first 50 questions were more content based, while the last 25 questions were more application based. Please study for your finals. I did average for my CAs but I studied pretty hard for my finals which really pulled up my grades.
Assesment:
3CAs (Each 20%, open book)
Finals (40%, Closed book MCQ)
Expected Grade: B
Actual Grade: A- (please study for finals)
